GAA, soccer, athletics and chess sit alongside our Active Schools culture - sports days, athletics, orienteering, bike day and fun runs keep every child active and involved.
Arts & culture
Art and drama are woven through school life, and our children take to the big stage each year at the Peace Proms in Belfast’s arena.
Citizenship & wellbeing
Green-Schools projects, healthy eating, SPHE and Stay Safe, and buddy systems help children look after themselves, each other and their world.
Digital & STEM
As a Digital School of Distinction with ten Science & Maths awards, we nurture problem-solving and investigation - including our own Science Log.
School Self-Evaluation
School Self-Evaluation (SSE) is our own honest review - led by the principal, deputy principal and staff, in consultation with the Board, parents and pupils.
Literacy, then numeracy, then Irish - each phase produced its own School Improvement Plan.
A 2019 inspector review set three guiding principles: reduce targets to sharpen focus; build on evidenced strengths; and sustain what already works well.
Today our focus is confident oral presentation across the curriculum.
Every child learns to prepare and confidently deliver a short (~one-minute) presentation on a theme or topic - individually or in groups, with growing fluency.
We build this skill across all class levels and apply it in science, history and SPHE, with extra support for children who need it.
