About Knockconan NS
A co-educational primary school of around 116 children, rooted in the drumlin countryside between Emyvale and Aughnacloy - small enough to know every child, ambitious enough to give them the world.
“To promote the full and harmonious development of every child”
Our vision is to do this within a secure, caring environment - supporting each child’s intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural development.
Our story
Built in 2005, Knockconan National School welcomes around 116 children from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. We operate under a Catholic ethos in the Diocese of Clogher - and we warmly welcome children of all faiths and none, preparing children for the sacraments as appropriate.
We believe in the positive influence of sport, art and drama, and we celebrate every child’s achievement at our termly assemblies. Over the years our pupils have shone in GAA, soccer, chess and athletics, and on the stage at the Peace Proms in Belfast.
We share certain amenities with Tru Beginnings Childcare and the wider local community - a school very much at the heart of the place it serves.
